All spiders are called arachnids, but goliath spiders are very unique spiders. One thing that makes them unique, is that it can reach a length of twelve inches! That is bigger than a human hand. They have a body part called a cephalothorax, it is where the eyes, fangs, stomach, brain, and mouth are. They have everything a normal spider has, like an outer skeleton, lots of eyes, sensory hairs, glands for silk, fangs with venom*, and eight legs. They are covered in brownish hair, but some parts are tan or red. They are usually dark brown or brown hair. If you want more go to Goliath Bird-Eating Spiders: Giant Arachnids by Judy Braus. Enough about how they look, let’s talk about where they live.
